Kraken said Thursday that customers can now connect their account to ChatGPT and ask questions such as "What did I make today?" The exchange stressed the limit: "Your account is read-only, so ChatGPT can't place trades or move money."
You can now ask ChatGPT “What did I make today?” or “Where did I lose money this month?” about your Kraken account.

Prices, charts and news need no login. Your account is read-only, so ChatGPT can’t place trades or move money.

CoinMarketCap Academy reports that prices, charts and news work in the app without logging in. In a reply, Kraken added that "geographic restrictions apply," without naming regions.
Coinbase went further the same day, posting that it "is open for AI agents" and that agents can trade crypto, stocks and derivatives from a Coinbase account:
Your agent <> your Coinbase account.

That product isn't new. TokenPost notes Coinbase for Agents launched June 11, and that derivatives access was already available by Sept. 22. Thursday's posts were a push for wider use.
Coinbase's own setup documentation includes the safety advice. Before connecting, it says, "create a separate portfolio for your agent, fund it with only what you're willing to risk, and scope your agent's access to that portfolio." Its Transfer permission moves funds only between your own portfolios, not to outside addresses. And to cut off access, revoke it under Account > Security > Connections, because "deleting a local skill or clearing a chat is not the same as revoking access."
